White wedding dress- a huge faux pas

I just bought a (I think) beautiful white strapless wedding dress, it is my perfect dress and VERY cheap as I got it from e-bay. Now I'm worried because the lady in the wedding dress shop said that in 8 years they've only sold 2 white wedding dresses because no one wants white. Also in a bridal magazine an article said "The modern bride wears pretty much any colour except white". Have I made a huge faux pas? I now have a white veil, white flower girl dress and white shoes. Is it all wrong? Help!

Not sure if you meant to post here but since you did I'd say
DO YOU and don't worry about what someone in a magazine
who will not contribute to your wedding has to say.

But, If it bothers you that much offset with another
color. I like the white gowns with black sashes. Google it
and see the pictures of brides styling this way.

Your wedding, your choice. Whatever you decide, this is only one day of what can be the most wonderful and possibly frustrating times of your life. Remember, the wedding is a day; the marriage is what really counts! I would wear a white that compliments my skintone and enjoy.

Wearing white is a modern, cultural phenomenon. 150 years ago, your wore your Sunday best to your wedding, no matter the color. Like my sister said when my aunt thought I should not wear white "I really don't think God cares what color she wears....only that she gets married!" Your wedding, wear what makes YOU happy! I for one think white is fantastic, ask LisaRaye.
