    Posted: Nov 26 2011 at 12:45pm
I have natural and relaxed hair on my head. I was looking for something that would make BOTH of them soft. It seems easy to find stuff to soften my natural hair, but the chemically treated hair just won't... budge.

I noticed that my hair is SO SOFT after using clear gels. They weigh the hair down and contain humectants. I thought "Hmm, what do I have that weighs my hair down and is a humectant?" CASTOR OIL!

I mixed aloe vera gel and castor oil in my hand and put it through out my hair. I tested one strand and blew dried it. OMG....! The blow dried hair is SOFT, SILKY, AHHHH!

The rest of the air dried hair feels great, too.

The natural hair needs to be moisturized more often than the relaxed hair, but I am so happy with this combo.

Does anyone else do this? Any tips to BOOST results or make it last longer or whatever?

After using it a while, I find that it keeps my relaxed hair soft and smooth for 2 days, but my natural hair needs to be moisturized like twice a day. If I use kinky curly leave in and use this, then just once a day.

could you maybe mist the natural parts then apply your mixture? Maybe that will help it stay moisturized a bit longer. Sounds good. I think I have some aloe vera gel around.
