Heeeeey y'all !

I just wanted to drop by and share a couple photos of my box braids that I've been doing on myself !
I'm transitioning from relaxed to natural and I needed to find a way to keep my hair out of the way during this transitioning process . Box braids is what it has come down to and i love them !

I've opted out of paying 234567543245 dollars to get them done professionally and just do them myself . The first time i did them it took about 10 hours, and the second time it only took like 8 . I get better each time too, and personally I love doing them myself.. I feel real "connected" with my hair . lol 

Mind you, I have only done them on myself 2 times so far..  I will continue to do this through the coming winter months though . I am just so in love with this protective style . It is easier to access my scalp to oil and wash as opposed to wearing a weave . Also before my first time doing this I had NO CLUE how to do individual braids... I spent countless hours on you tube watching videos on how to achieve these and finally just took the plunge and began !

Great job, can you provide any links to youtube videos that really helped you. I'd love to try them myself but for now I'm just doing box braids with my own hair. Also what kind of hair do you use?

They are cute and I like the color! I also like senegalese (sp?) twists,you should try that! Thumbs Up

Thank you so much ladies !!

the type of hair that i used the first time was xpressions.. that hair is not typical in america though.. i was home in switzerland when i did my braids the first time and i guess xpressions is the popular kanekalon hair over there..

but the second time i used bobbi boss kanekalon hair . 
although in my opinion whatever brand 100% kanekalon hair will do .


here are the videos that i found to be the most helpful:

these three are how to do the individual braid..




and this last one is how to feather the ends of your braids.. basically so that your ends aren't just ugly blunt ends !
