Hi Ladies,

I just ordered the Sedu Pro Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron (1-1/2") yesterday through the Internet (paid with Paypal) and received an e-mail today from the company stating that this particular model is being discontinued at the end of the month because customers have been complaining of mechanical problems. Does anyone own this particular model and what has been your experience with it?

Of course, I told them to cancel the order and recommend something else, since they also carry CHI, Solia and Babyliss and asked for my hair type. Just a little worried because I've never done business with them before and I just noticed that there is no contact number on their Web site (only an option to send and e-mail). I'm a little freaked out.

Thanks!

Never mind. I cancelled my previous order and went with the Babyliss Pro Nano Titanium.
I hope nobody bought the Sedu recently.

This is the product to avoid, yall. I initially picked it because I read that it worked well on natural african-american hair and because it has large plates. But the company says it's defective

No responses? I guess no one has used it... It's actually my vendor that says it tends to have mechanical problems, not the Sedu company, so I was hoping for someone to chime in...

The vendor didn't specify. He just said complaints relating to mechanical problems and suggested I order another item. I ended up picking a Babyliss.

I got it through Groupon for 65 bucks, it's decent, but I think I need to let it burn for a while, cause it is in no way as hot as my pink Chi, even at the 410 setting. But I noticed most things need to burn for a few hours before it gets hotter.

I've tried different brands of products and I prefer the Karmin Professional Titanium Flat Iron, it heats up really quick up to 410f for long lasting straightness and leaves hair silky and shiny,  I bought it at myhairstylingtools. Smile
