According to Sereca of LHCF "The part that makes it an oil rinse is using conditioner to help rinse some of the oil from your hair. Everything else is just a pre-poo, hot oil treatment, or an oil wash."

With a hot oil treatment, you are applying warmed up oil to dry hair, sit under the dryer, and then shampoo it out...I think it benefits the scalp more...

When I do a hot oil treatment, I've washed my hair, then put the oil on with a plastic bag and sit under my bonnet, then cowash it out or lightly shampoo it. Have I been oil rinsing this whole time?

I need to find an oil to use. Right now I cowash, rinse, and apply either coconut oil or Africa's Best Herbal Oil with extra castor oil added while I'm still in the shower. Then I apply my cholesterol once I get out. (I never shampoo)
This just seems like it would be a lot of oil for me to use. I'd have to find a pretty cheap one for the rinse I think.
Thanks Nike
