i pretty much freaked the eff out because i was 99% sure i had massive heat damage from that tricks flat ironing skills. luckily i deep conditioned and washed it out and my napps are still intact (i guess it takes a minute for the kinks to come back) but i was so mad and upset. i defintely will not be letting anyone flat iron my hair anymore. atleast if theres damage i can blame myself. i will check out those people you posted about laajoy

Oooo honey I'm so sorry. I went thru that with a professional that I went to for several years. Her flat iron had no temperature guage nor did she deep condition my hair. After I stopped working I started doing my own hair and then I noticed how damaged it was. So the internet here I come. Lol. I've found so much help on here as well as YouTube. I finally cut my shoulder length hair cause it was so uneven and had split ends as well as see thru ends. Its growing now and I can already tell I'm doing the damn thing. Lol. So, I hope the 2 people help you some. I can't use castor oil or let my hair dry overnight, cruuuunchy hard hair. I no they bought use high heat. Ok, I've ranted enough, take care. TTYL. There was another person on here that had a link to her page on YouTube and it was good too, I don't know if the YouTube page is still up. Her write-up on here was under Ciarahoneydip i think. Bye Bye (in the pressing section)

Ciarahoneydip's older video isn't up anymore. She has an updated one that to me isn't as good as the first.

you should have waited for your hot iron to be hot enough before you start pressing your hair.

I use very small sections.  If the sections you try to flat iron or press are too large, the heat penetrates unevenly and gives a bad result.
