i met this lady with the most beautiful and softest locs i had every seen and touched! those bad boys were flowing in the wind! i had to ask her what she did to maintain, what her regi was.
when i saw her, i was with my roommate on Oxford street (whom because of me is going natural yay!!) i told her, "i most touch that womans locs" she was like, "don't please god don't embarrass me!!" (she knows i'm crazy about hair! *i will stop you whilst you're jogging to ask you about your hair* crazy! lol!)
the lady was sooo nice! just as crazy about hair as i am! she told me build up and lint were and still are, her greatest fear. and truthfully they are mine as well.
i go to some extremes to keep keep my babies lint and buildup free from the get go. like:
i cover my hair with my silk scarf as soon as i get home,
i tie a siilk scarf on my head before i put on my wool hat,
i shampoo every Saturday, and i shampoo twice (granted i used diluted ORS creamy aloe) 1st shampoo is for the scalp, and second shampoo it for the locs.
once a month, i take 3 tablespoons of baking soda and add diluted shampoo to it and make sure my hair is CLEAN!! scalp and hair! lol!
i use only water and oil
once a week, after my shampoo, i will spray my hair with diluted Infusium 23 original, but that is about as much build up as am comfortable with lol!
i use a cotton material to dry my hair, (i just wrap it round my hair and squeeze) towels scare me lol!
what fears do you have concerning your locs, and what, if any extremes, do you do to you protect your babies lol!

One of my concerns is having my edges fall or thin out. My temples are still pretty weak so I always extra gentle when retwisting that area.
Im bored line obsessed with keeping them moisturize. I'll spritz about three times a day.
side note: my random loc thought is .. I love them alot. Today I was looking in the mirror at them and I couldn't believe how my locs are evolving. They starting to hang more now and have a lot of swing to them. Im really enjoying this.
