With the holiday and all the festivities, I didn't try the root touch up.  It will have to wait until next weekend.

I've been reading this forum for years, but I must post a special thanks to AM. Thanks AM for helping me bleach my knots on 4 wigs. Yes, I got excited and did 4!  I did my full lace virgin Malaysian first and followed with three front lace Remy wigs. I am too proud of myself...thanks to you Clap! I've already had lots of comments from strangers and the stylist who layered the Malaysian wig. I also installed the elastic band on the Malaysian since I never use glue/tape and it fits FABULOUS!

I almost ran into a snag with the full lace since I had dyed my lace about a month ago to a medium brown and the lace had a slight orange-brown tint after I bleached the knots using the Beyond the Zone Bleach Kit. I simply dipped it into RDR a few times and the orangey tint disappeared.

I'm ready for the the next one!

Thanks so much Ice, I had a unit with orange lace and didn't know what to do cuz the shimmering lights shampoo didn't help enough . I dipped it in rit dye remover a few times then washed in shimmering lights with a little red corrector and my lace looks great now!

You are so welcome...because orange lace is just not a cute sight with black or dark brown hair. LOLLOL

I'll have to read this thread again, because I'm getting a new wig soon. & I definitely want to bleach the knots.
The last wig I have, I bleached the knots, but some of them were still black, and after I rebleached some of the hair fell out. There's a big bald spot in my wig. Shocked
I wonder if I could use hair dye instead because I'm planning on dying the hair a lighter shade of brown anyway.
Queen Sheba, I don't think you want to get the knots a blondish color. I think they should be a light brown/golden color.

Does anyone use this method, with the 'makeup' sponge instead of a brush? It looks like it would be easier to apply & won't result in blond roots (which also happened to me) But I wonder if all the knots get bleached.

Hello. I want to bleach knots soon to my rpgshow wig.

The color is a #3 and a medium brown lace. It has silky hair, but will be curly. what are the steps I do? which number bleach should I get. I would say a 30...and I need to use the rit dye first, correct?
