Love this post. I think you are right to support those BBS owners who listened up to our cause. I haven't tested the quality of Fashion Fair products, nor of Imans etc. I guess it's because I have often managed to get away with the darkest of the white owned lines because I'm reasonably fair (only just, mind you). I will take note though. And in any case, it's always nice to give newcomers a chance - there is a possibility I could find a brand far superior to those I currently use. Thanks Veemack. This is a great post

You are so welcomed. I was a makeup artist for Fashion Fair cosmetics for about 5 years. They are old school to ladies in their twenties, probably. But the line is for women of color. They have very light shades for lightskin women. I had a few white women, that in the summer time would buy the foundations from me, because they matched. And the white ladies loved the eyeshadows because they had more pigment in them, than the white lines. After all these years, I still use the souffle foundation. And on a weekly basis, women stop and ask me what kind of foundation do I have on. When I say fashion fair, they look dissappointed. LOL! They always think I will name something new, I guess.....Now I do not know if Iman still sells her cosmetics, I never worked for that line. Thanks for your comment!

Jamacian Mango & Lime is a black owned natural hair products company. Located in Fayettville, GA. You can find their products at Walgreens, CVS, Walmart and the BSS. I recommend their Cactus oil. I started using this about 5 years ago and it is a great product. A little goes a long way.
They have recently come out with a transitioning lotion for people growing their relaxer out. It is advertised as an alternative to the BC.

So sad that this post did not get more support. This is an hair forum, but the gossip post seem to get more response than posts like this. It is so important that we try to support other black owned businesses, whenever possible. Lets support the people who put our hair strands first with good products. I ran across this video today:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7MZB1uT2n4&feature=related
