Topic: Balanced (both moisture & protein) deep condish Posted: Oct 30 2009 at 8:27pm |

It's that time this weekend. This hair needs a clarifying and a DC.
I can't believe this is day SEVEN of this twistout and TBH it could go for longer. But I just need to wash, scalp's dirty. I would really have liked to push this to see how long the twistout would go.
Anyway, this is what's in my plan for the dc.
Coconut cream concentrate (no additives, 100%) Coconut oil Honey Banana if I can find an old one.
Any suggestions?

I did it brit. I was pleased with the detangling after I let it sit for an hour or two. My final mix was one banana, the coconut cream concentrate, a dab of SAA, safflower oil. I think that was it. Oh and rosemary EO.

lol. almost everything in my kitchen has food AND hair uses. The coconut cream concentrate is thick, really thick, and left in the fridge it kinda hardens. It's the stuff at the TOP of the coconut cream you buy in the can. I got a huge box of it for under two dollars at my neighborhood vietnamese market. It must have been at least 50 ounces. When I saw it I just about flipped cuz I pay a buck for that tiny can of watery stuff. This is the REAL deal. Coconut cream really detangles. I was impressed. No, it's not like spoilled milk.

Try adding unflavoured gelatin to your protein treatment next time. The gelatin is basically a mix of proteins and peptides partially hydrolyzed. I usually soak about a tsp of gelatin in a tablespoon of hot water for a few minutes then add it to my favourite conditioner (a moisturizing conditioner with no proteins in it), and some evoo.
The first time I tried it I did it with my sis and we shocked by the results. My sis's hair had not had a protein treatment in like 4ever and I hadn't had one in a while. Our hair was THICK after!! Yea it was soft too from conditioner and evoo but man was it THICK! I could not get over that. It's been a staple in my treatments ever since.
