I have a cousin who is autistic, and a family friend who suffered police brutality because he was deaf, so I can relate to a fraction of your pain. keep doing what you're doing! I know from experience that someone WILL step up and help you fight injustice! thanks, red, for bringing her story to BHM.

As a mother this story has me tears. I signed the petition and Amy will cetainly be in my prayers.
If only beauty could erase the ills of this world it truly would be a better place.
Mocha- your daughter is gorgeous and I can imagine the worry that you must feel, thinking about how cruel this world can be.
This world is crazy and even though my daughter is "normal", cause really what is "normal" I pray for her well being and safety EVERYDAY. As a parent you always want the best for your child . For others to treat them differently or to discriminate against them is heartbreaking.
You have to be an advocate for your child and make sure that they receive every thing and every advantae that is available to them, cause one thing is for sure this world just don't give a damn.

Mocharoni, she's beautiful.
I teach children with special needs and they feel like my own. I had a brother who was autistic and he still inspires me everyday. The ratio for Autism is 1 in 100, maybe more by now. It's about time people open their eyes and hearts to those with disabilities.
