1. Garlic or lasuna - It is also known as Allium sativum in biological terms.

It is considered to be one of the best home remedies for acne. Here there are two ways from which you can use either or both. The first method is to crush 2 or more cloves of garlic and apply it to the affected areas two times a day.

The second option is to chew and swallow one or more clove of garlic every day. The problem is that garlic is a strong smelling agent and you have to cope with it.

2. Egg White - Crack some eggs and remove the yolks i.e. the yellow of the egg and leaving only the egg whites. Beat these egg whites for some time and apply this to your face or the affected part. Wait for about 15 minutes and wash off the area applied. The purpose of applying the egg whites is to eradicate the excess oil from the skin that promotes early healing of skin and acne.

3. Toothpaste - It was previously an amateur practice but now it has scientifically proven that toothpaste actually help in curing the acne. Apply it unswervingly to your acne spot before retiring to bed. This is believed to help manage the swelling overnight. Just make sure that it is not the gel tooth paste but the paste.

^^^not everyone wants to use medication for a long period of time.  Natural is always better and based experience of people I know accutane can cause hair loss and other not so good side effects.

Accutane Side effects – What are they?

There certainly are uncomfortable effects from taking isotretinoin, but they are worth it compared to long-term effects of untreated acne.  Reportedly, patients have their worst side effects weeks prior to their skin improving:  Extremely dry skin, lips, eyes and anus, depression, thinning hair and serious fetal damage and birth defects.

Any female who is old enough to have children must take every possible measure to avoid pregnancy if they are on Accutane.  Studies have also been conducted more thoroughly and recently showing there is a high risk of developing depression.  Anyone taking the drug must avoid anything containing Vitamin A because of its potency.

Another negative side effect can be severe and lasting liver damage, so it is detrimental that all patients are strictly supervised on the treatment.  Regular blood tests will be undergone to check blood-fat levels aren’t being affected by the Accutane.

Sure, there are side affects - there are side affects to every drug. The doctor will take your blood every month to check for a variety of things - mostly - you cannot get pregnant or the child will be deformed.

But .. the doctor will take care of these issues and after you are off the drug (6 months to a year is not long term) you are able to get pregnant etc. This drug has been used by zillions of people over the last 25 years.

I know sooooo many women with really bad skin that were afraid to take medication for acne 20 some years ago and spent allll this time and money on over the counter cures and carrots etc lots of stuff .. but it never helped a bit.

I know they hate to run into me ... because I tried to tell them this years ago ...

Today. they are stillllll walking around bitter and upset about their skin because after so many years, their skin is permanently scarred with deep pock marks, or dark marks or 'strawberries'. It can be disfiguring.

I have never known anyone that tried ths home remedies that made any signifigant long term difference in their skn - it always reverts back to breaking out all the time.

I am a strong advocate for Accutane ... and I am  not getting paid ... because my skin is completely clear. I only wear light powder on my skin, I get tons of compliments on my complextion .. and I am 55.

If people want to try these home remedies ... fine, I just think it's only fair to mention that .. there IS a cure for acne.

Accutane will completely solve an acne problem

No, you take it 6 months to 1 year and then most don't ever have to take it again.  However a small percentage of people may need to top up for an extra 3 - 6 months, as a result of minor breakouts following initial treatment.  Those side effects are not a joke though.  I know people who have been on it, and dry skin is an understatement!  Also one of my friends lost her baby because not all of it was out of her system.

If one has a reputable dermatologist; they will start their patients on a topical regimen first.  Accutane is and should be a last resort.  It is the equivalent of using a bomb for a fly infestation.

However, I have no problem with a person seeking out homeopathic remedies before seeking out a dermatologist.  I think it's a great and rational idea in fact; start small and move up.  They should just remember to research first, as everything can have it's own side effects.

Noooo. Embarrassed

Like I said, I took the drug for less than a year ... umm maybe 8 months or so and it was COMPLETELY cleared up my skin!!! So I never took it again.

It dries up 80% of the oil in you body, thats why the doctor will give you a blood test  EVERY MONTH to make sure you do not get pregnant and check your other numbers. He does not want to get sued. Unhappy
'
I experienced the most common side effect - which was dry lips so I used lip balm constantly ... that was all.

Then I started getting these MILD chemical peels to remove the dark marks ... and I was DONE.

I go into a place here in The Netherlands every 6 months have another mainteance peel (a realll experience) and my skin stays so clear I can go out with no makeup - though I usually wear some light powder.

Since that time (20 years ago) I also keep my skin well cleaned with a cleansing soap and I use a GOOD quality moisturizer. Nothing you would buy at the local drug store - that stuff will not do a thing for you.

But for sensitive skin that has had problems ...  you have to buy the good stuff so expect to pay upwards of 100 bucks a pop .. but that jar of moisturizer will last a good 6 months.

Sexibeach uses some good stuff too .. that you will find in The States.. but I have forgotten the name. PM her! The things I use are many based in Europe and you can't get them in The States.

I had used many brands like http://www.espaonline.com/ though I now use the brand my clinics sells here in The NL.

Now I have oily skin ... (and still do - that's why - no wrinkles) but STILL I
need a moisterizer.

I am a moisturizer junkie.

I am religious about the way I care for my skin because once I got it cleared up (I had acne from 12 to 35!) I was sooooo happy.

Actually, I became a sort of NUT as I would stop women in the street and say 'I see you have acne - but THERE IS A CURE'. Then I would talk about my skin and what I did etc.

Some women really liked this and some thought I was crazy and got pi**** but I could not help myself!!

Of course, I stopped doing that after a while hee hee!

I have a friend over here that has acne actually. She asked me what I was doing and  I took her to my FAVORITE place .. a Doctor's cosmetic clinic to get her started on a program.

However like MANY woman I have met over the years .,, she is scared of the drugs and she is scared of the MILD chemical peels that gently remove the dark spots and ... she does not want to pay the money.

So every time I see her .. I see her eyes running over my face .. but hey, everyone has to make their own choices and you can't be jealous of my skin (she is 36) if I have shared with you .. what you need to do.

In my opinion .. though she complains she just wants the solution to be easy and cheap. (She has a good job) so  she would just realign her money for a good years only ... and have gotten on the program.

Anyway, I could tell you a lot about this - as I have had many discussions about skin for years with friends I knew back in The States .. but you can't be green eyed about my 'aging skin' .. which is NOT aging at all ... if you are not willing throw some money at it.
Even the guy I date (he is White) is 48 so he has lots of sun damage and lines etc because you know White people can't take the sun ... he can't believe my skin. People think he is dating a 'much younger girl' and he's like LOLahhh ...

It's an investment.
