Topic: 101 Ways To Know A Low Quality Vendor or Scam Arti Posted: Feb 13 2012 at 4:45am |
I've been on this site for while now and watched and lurked and researched. And so I'm still new in a sense. But I thought this would be useful to myself as well as other newbies. I think it would be helpful to name 101 sighs that you have either bad quality vendor or just a straight scam artist! So again I'm not expert. But what I remember alot of people saying were this.
1. If a site has stolen pictures from another vendor or website, or have many pictures of know celebrity without a sample of their unit shown that mimics that look. Big big red flag!!!

2. Request pictures of the product that you will receive if you purchase from them! If They ignore you, get mad or do anything aside from send pics. They probably don't even have the item to begin with!
Good Idea OP

I really have to go to bed. But anyway just wanted to warn my BHM friends about what I found and think to be a scam. Went to the Sunrise Wigs Website and saw that they had some customer pictures I recognized from another vendor. And more specifically an AV. So I'm a little suspect about them. This is a proof of a scam and just wanted to leave an example.

I guess I should say that I suspect this is a scam and not say for sure. But these pictures are on two sites as customer testimonial pictures. So something ain't right!!!

Great idea! I am new myself and looking for a great vendor so haven't dipped my toe in the water yet. However I will post as soon as I do, hopefully this will also become a sticky.
You can tell we are newbies, no fancy graphics or signatures in site!

4. When you find a contact name that is HIGHLY suspect for example a well known celebrity picture with a change in last name. If you can't see a contact then well.. they aren't worth contacting!!!

To update you on this information. I did in fact contact one person who I recognized in one of the pictures. And she assured me that it was NOT a testimonial given to this company. And that this company did in fact STEAL her pictures from another well known AV site. If you see a picture of a youtube guru on a site. Be suspicious!!

Now I'm not saying that there aren't times that that a picture of a well know guru is legit. BUT you should follow up to see if they did in fact submit a testimonial or picture. Nine times out of ten they are more than willing to tell you because if they didn't they are just as concerned as you are. For they don't want their picture stolen!!!
